This Blog and website is called Learning From My Younger Self, because running from my younger self hasn’t worked.  I would much rather learn from her, and I hope you will, too.

In my old journals and writings in Learning Together, I will respond as older me to younger me.  My writing style may seem a bit unique.  My journals have been written to God since I was eighteen years old.  When I am talking to Him, I call Him Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Lord, Savior, God and I talk to Him in first person, using YOU or YOUR.  Please note when you see words in all capital letters, I am just chatting with God.  When I am talking to you, my readers, “you” will be lowercased. Just giving you a heads up, so it’s easier to understand.

I have lots to share, all as varied and eclectic as I am, as we all are.  Hopefully my Mompodges will make you laugh, give you a little more grace with yourself, and help you recall fond memories with your own families.  Recipes will help you with what’s for dinner or dessert.  (Recipes will always be wheat and nut free; feel free to change for your family’s needs.)    And as more things come up, as you help me know what is important to you and your family, I will do my best to add content that is useful, engaging, and informative.

I want this website to show the many facets of being a parent, a teacher, an artist, a cook, a musician. I am still growing, still changing, still learning, and there is so much to learn. Join me on my journey, and we can grow together, too. We might cry some, but I think we’ll laugh some, too. Grieving and celebrating are two things I don’t do well. We can work on that together.

As we grow together, I intend to do things I never have before.  (Not long ago, I painted a room for the first time. More recently, I golfed, for the first time, ever.) We can do those together, too.  Since many of you will have done things that I have not (I’m sure many of you are amazing painters or golfers, among other things), I will be learning from you.  We were younger yesterday, a week ago, twenty years ago, and we have so much to learn from each other.  See?  We are all learning from our younger selves.  It’s going to be an incredible journey.

Want to grow together even more?  Email me, Elizabeth Dye, at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
